I looked at the wikipedia community page, and think that a "things you can do" block would be great, but I don't know how to replicate it.  Are these widgets that automatically list the tasks that need to be completed?    Also, I want to suggest the establishment of a style guide to cover items like you have listed, such as terminology. --[[User:Davidsmith|Davidsmith]] 16:44, 31 Jul 2004 (CDT)

Should this portal be used for links to UU activities in different locations around the planet? R. Park Prairie UU Society Madison WI

My sense is that the "Community Portal" is generally used for the local wiki community itself. So I'd put links to uu activities on another page (as hinted at in my outline for the main page). --NealMcB 15:13, 26 Jul 2004 (CDT)

I looked at the wikipedia community page, and think that a "things you can do" block would be great, but I don't know how to replicate it. Are these widgets that automatically list the tasks that need to be completed? Also, I want to suggest the establishment of a style guide to cover items like you have listed, such as terminology. --Davidsmith 16:44, 31 Jul 2004 (CDT)

Those are probably "templates" (things that appear inside double braces) - see [1] for more info. The layout is done via tables in the template definition, and the template itself is just an easy way to let multiple pages share the same todo list. --NealMcB 17:05, 1 Aug 2004 (CDT)
